Adrian is a native of Memphis, TN, but resides in Minneapolis, MN. He
is an active musician, producer, and songwriter. Adrian has been
active in music since the age of 9, in which he co-produced the
children’s album, “He’s Everywhere,” alongside his older brother,
Ashley. He owns Divers Music, which he started in 2008, and produced
another solo project of his own entitled “Divers.” In 2018, Adrian
produced and co-wrote “Coats, Hats, and Gloves,” which became a
viral hit leading up to Super Bowl 52 in Minneapolis. His music
production and songwriting credits also include Ashley K. Davis, Kirk
Whalum, Excelsior, Jovonta Patton, Tonia Hughes, Jewel McLaurin,
Sounds of Blackness, Roderick Neal, Annilia Wright-Mosley, Darnell
Davis and the Remnant, and Jamar Esaw and Triad for Christ.
Adrian is earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of
Memphis, and a Masters of Music degree from the University of Saint
Thomas. He is currently a PhD student in Music Education at the
University of Minnesota.
Adrian is completing his 20th year of teaching music. He currently
teaches in the Minneapolis Public School district. In 2017, he was
nominated finalist for Minnesota Teacher of the Year. He was
nominated quarterfinalist for Grammy Music Educator of the Year in
2014, 2016, and 2018. Adrian also is the Director of the University of
Minnesota Gospel Choir.
