Rating: 5 out of 5.

Jéssyka De Souza Fernandes (Originally born as Jessica) is a Mixed-race Recording Artist/Singer-Songwriter & Writer and is Professionally known as JAESSEY. She grew up most of her life in various places in the world, such as in South America, Brazil and Europe,Norway, been in a numbers of different places and cities including schools before she ended up in Norway, in 2001 some say 2003-2004, but been there for over 16 years

When and why did you start playing? Since the day i learned to walk, talk and just being a child i already found out that singing,
was something i just love to do, growing up i just got more and more pushed and interested into this
road the singing, writing, acting also in small roles on school, i just knew this is what i want to do. Today
i write what i live to help people through my own music. so its like a minestry.

Which famous musicians do you admire? Why? This one is not so easy to answer as i like many different artists and their lyrics, i gotta chose
beside Hillsong United and Kari Jobe, TINI because her first album helped me alot through a hard time in life. I love the album she have, i dont even know if she wrote the lyrics but what it matters is that it helped me, this is the type of music i just love. So i admire TINI Stoessel alot beside Hillsong United, and why i like Hillsong and Kari Jobe etc its because im a part of Christianism too.

Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones? I honestly have no answer for this one for now.

Who are your favorite musicians? Groups? CD’s? I love 90s, so Oasis will always be one of my favourite for personal reasons and their CD specially the one from 1994 and 1995. “Live Forever”, also i love the song “Hotel California” by Eagles. I really
enjoy 80s type too.

Have you been in competitions? Fleadh’s? Any prizes? As a beginner i have not been in big competitions yet, however last month i got mail
from an unsigned industry who said i was chosen so im very excited, i got so many ideas and so many
lyrics waiting to come out. Also i was in Idol for some years ago and got some good advice, but the best advice was from another singer in a small competition in Trondheim she said “music is therapy” then i got fast an idea how to write my own songs/lyrics.

Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV. I have performed in public yes in Norway, Trondheim, Klæbu, various time. However i left in 2017 my carreer and came back in the end of 2019, i did it because of a doctrine i followed in a church, i went of the spotlight and cleaned my name from all places because of my faith, but then i learned that i don’t have to do that, its not about rules, and this is a gift i got to help others and i really enjoy working with it. I would love to perform in public specially in US or UK, Europe in future after this “world caos of covid 19”

What makes this kind of music “good” to you? I write straight from my heart and soul so i really dont have another answer then that for now. Cuz
its real and deep stuff and i got more just waiting to come out, and sometimes its even hard for me to write it out, but it has been a good strenght for me to overcome all evil i have gone through in life, and i HOPE this can help others too who is going through some real hard times, whatever it may be.

Why did you choose to play this kind of music? I love Electronic, and i always did, Röyksopp was my first favourite Norwegian band, also Margaret berger i admire which i met, Sandra Lyng which was so sweet to receive me once, before i was in idol myself they were my idols, i still admire these 2 womens today. So This is the type of style i like, electronic, r&b, rock, pop, indie but im also open to sing other genres with no doubt i has been once a singer in a rock/metal band, i loved it, specially the band mate i had “Håkon” he is awesome! i will never forget that experience, sadly i had to leave as i had no choice but i needed to move.

Let’s Talk about your music and your last work… As i left i have been had to take up all of the work i’ve done, which was alot
but i got my some help from friends/colleges in the industry and it made it go faster.
Latest “Not Gonna Lose Control”. All of my songs is written in some kind of metaphor.
You must put the pieces to find out what i mean behind some words if you know what i mean
*Laugh*!

How do you feel about the internet in the music business? *Laugh* thats so beautiful we have the internet, its easy to communicate with colleges
the music family, industry worldwide, i am very happy it exist.

What are the plans for the future? How has your music evolved since you first began playing music? I didn’t expect to come so far, but i really worked hard and i will keep working
hard with all love to get out all of my plans in the writing etc.
